The man behind the mole
Hi, I’m Tom Peck.
I’ve been shipping software since the late ’90s — started on a hand-me-down Commodore 64, taught myself QBasic from a for Dummies book, and at 18 co-founded a little tech outfit called MegaByte. The web took it from there.
By day I’m Director of Product Development at MRI Software, leading an international team on Agency Studio — a CMS suite for the APAC real estate market. Before that I was CTO at WhosOnLocation, helping take it through acquisition. Nearly three decades of building serious things for serious teams.
Molehill is what happens when AI changes the maths. A year ago, a side project meant six months of evenings. Now I can take an idea, prototype it, ship it, and watch real people use it — in a fortnight. That’s the thrill I’m chasing here: the same finish-line feeling as cresting the last climb of a 100km ultra, just on a much faster cadence.
The projects above are just the recent chapters. The full story runs back twenty-five years — here’s some of it:

What I offer
Work
with me.
Molehill is a workshop, not an agency. I take one engagement at a time, scoped to be async-friendly — and if your timeline needs a full-time team instead of me, I’ll tell you straight.
Architecture & AI Review
Async · written reportSenior CTO-grade judgement applied to your codebase, architecture, or AI roadmap. Written report, not theatre.
Best for
Teams who want a second opinion before they commit.
AI Integration Advisory
Async · ongoingAdd Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini to your product the right way — streaming, caching, evals, cost guardrails.
Best for
Teams whose AI features feel hacky or expensive.
Prototype Build
Fixed scope · evidence firstThe working proof-of-concept that settles the argument — a real slice of product you can put in front of users or stakeholders.
Best for
Founders who need evidence before they invest.
